Minsa signs contract with UK to build Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) signed a memorandum of understanding and a contract between the countries with the United Kingdom for the implementation of two long-awaited investment projects: the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital, in La Libertad, and the High Complexity Hospital of Piura.

The signing of the agreement took place at the Government Palace in the presence of President Dina Boluarte, the Minister of Health, César Vásquez, the British Ambassador to Peru, Gavin Cook, and the regional governors of La Libertad and Piura, César Acuña and Luis Neyra, respectively.

“Today we write in the history of the health of this country a significant milestone that will change the lives of the northern part of Peru. “We are confident that the signing of this agreement will mean improvements in infrastructure and equipment, but also reaffirm the Government’s commitment that every citizen has access to quality and timely health services.” said Minister César Vásquez.

The Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital project includes an investment of S/1,455,952,736.55, which includes technical archives, the acquisition of modern medical equipment and vehicles, with the aim of improving health services for more than one million inhabitants of the La Libertad region and the surrounding areas.

It will have more than 28,600 state-of-the-art medical devices for 26 health service units, considering that it will be in category III-1. In addition, the existing facilities will be dismantled and the design, equipment and commissioning will be carried out based on the Fast Track modality, which allows construction to be carried out in parallel, thus saving time in its implementation.
