Kwido is expanding its presence in Latin America. Spanish company, which developed a software from telecare to home care companies, has landed in Panama, adding its sixth country on the continent, as Iñaki Bartolomé, CEO of Kwido, explained to PlantaDoce.

The Bilbao company, which sells it software company, has partnered with Genos Global Consulting, the Panama University of Technology and the Panamanian Ministry of Social Development offer their technology to monitor the health and mental health of elderly people in the Bethany region, said Bartolomé. In particular, this service will be offered at the Age 3 Association of Villa Cáceres and the Renovemos Nuestras Vidas Association of La Locería.

With Panama, Kwido already offers its services through other companies in Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and Puerto Rico. Currently, in the Caribbean country the service has started with fifty people and the idea is to expand it throughout the country.

In Europe, the company offers its services in Spain, United Kingdom, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Luxembourg, Austria, Romania and Poland. It has been present in the last country since 2020, when it implemented an elderly care solution in the city of Sopot.

In parallel, with the aim of expanding in Europe, Kwido’s CEO commented that the company is currently negotiating with local entities in Greece to land in the Hellenic country.

At the moment, Kwido offers its technology to around 3,000 people and the goal later this year is to double that figure on a global scale, also adding new customers in the countries where it operates.

In Spain, the company operates primarily in the Basque Country. The company is working in Bilbao with IMQ Igurco on automated geriatric assessments, identify risk issues for the elderly and dependent people. In this city, Kwido reaches more than 250 families.

The company has a similar system in Urretxu (Guipúzcoa), where it works with daily centers in the area. Under the name Urretxun Zaindu (Caring for Urretxu) services are offered which include automated geriatric assessments, to prepare personalized care plans, activity bracelets to measure physical activity and sleep quality of the elderly, and applications that include Access in an accessible way to at-home interventions for carry out maintenance and follow-up tasks. The company also cooperates with other operators such as Grupo SI, Tunstall, Atienza or Sacyr Social.

The company closed the 2022 financial year with a turnover of over one million euros and the target for 2023 is to double this amount. The company is headed by Bartolomé, a Computer Science graduate from the University of Deusto, who worked as a product manager at Panda until founding Kwido in 2011.
