Kate Middleton’s outfit sends a clear message

Chances are you may have noticed, maybe you haven’t — but before, during, and after the coronation, Kate Middleton definitely had a theme. How? By sticking to a certain color palette. Great Britain flag colors. She appeared in red, white and blue during the celebrations surrounding the coronation of her father-in-law, King Charles. This will also happen flag get dressed named.

To kick off coronation week, Kate hit a pub in Soho with Prince William. She chose an outfit consisting of a bright red Eponine coat, a white Suzannah gown and Jimmy Choo pumps, and completed her outfit with “Cha Cha” earrings from Maria Black Jewellery.

For her Coronation Day outfit, Kate wore – you guessed it – red, white and blue. She wore a classic red and blue cape, and underneath an ivory dress by Alexander McQueen, embroidered with a motif of roses, thistles, daffodils and clover for the four nations of Great Britain. She topped off her look with a custom tiara designed by Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen.

The second part of the coronation, her outfit is mostly blue, one of her favorite colors. During a big lunch in Windsor, Kate kept it simple in a blue Reiss blazer, which JAN found a similar (and affordable) copy of, and one of her beloved Veja sneakers. Even though the blue color is lighter than the color on the flag, Kate still dresses according to the theme.

That same night, at the coronation concert, the Princess of Wales once again donned a bright red Alexander McQueen suit with a Van Cleef & Arpels Magic Alhambra necklace – her second monochromatic red look at coronation weekend.

During the day volunteering with her family and the Scouts, she once again stuck to her blue color palette and wore a light blue blouse. Also great to have casual look can be seen on the princess, and the good news: JAN already told you where you can buy the chelsea boots he wore that day.

For the garden party at Buckingham Palace, Kate chose the see-through Elie Saab skirt and matching top she previously wore to Royal Ascot in 2019, along with the same Philip Treacy hat.
