Jeremy Hunt presents a Budget focused on long term growth

London, Mar 14 (EFE).- The UK’s Economy Minister, Jeremy Hunt, will this Wednesday present in Parliament a Budget aimed at promoting “long-term and sustainable” growth, where measures to increase employment will be relevant.

In November, shortly after the financial turmoil caused by the government of former Prime Minister Liz Truss, Hunt was forced to implement measures to “ensure stability” and make a “tough decision”, the minister said in a statement today.

Four months later, the Government intends to implement “the next phase of the plan”, explained Hunt, who described the economic roadmap he will present to deputies as a “budget for growth.”

“Not only is growth emerging from a trough, but healthy, long-term and sustainable growth, which pays for the NHS and our schools, allows young people to find good jobs and provides a safety net for older ones”, explains the conservative politician.

With the plan, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s government aims to make Great Britain “one of the most prosperous countries in the world”.

In the House of Commons, Hunt will detail his plans to “remove barriers stopping companies from investing”, “resolve staff shortages that prevent them from hiring” and “break down barriers that prevent people from working”.

He will also announce steps to make Britain a “technological and scientific superpower”.

The Minister of Economy “will reject the narrative of defeat, will defend the success that the UK has achieved in the last decade” and will present his plan to take advantage of the country’s “competitive advantage”, the Government goes ahead before a parliamentary appearance on Wednesday.
