Daniele Tonella is ING’s new Chief Technology Officer.
Orange Bank has found the desired replacement for Görkem Köseoğlu, who resigned in November last year (two months after his appointment) due to “mutual discussions regarding differing views regarding expectations regarding his leadership role”. Meanwhile, Marnix van Stiphout presented the award.
Swiss-born Tonella has over twenty years of experience in technology leadership roles in the financial sector and currently serves as an advisor and on the board of directors for several companies, including UniCredit Services, AXA Group, Evalueserve and Swiss Life.
CEO Steven van Rijswijk explained that “Tonella’s experience and track record of digital leadership will be invaluable to ING in executing our strategy to become the best bank in Europe.”
“ING is a bank that aims to push the boundaries of what technology can do in banking and what technology can do in banking,” the new CTO added to his new colleagues. “I am proud to be part of a team that is looking beyond the horizon and achieving that goal.”
