HTGroup, the main medical transport group in Spain, has been awarded a new contract for scheduled patient transport services in Norfolk and Waveney, east of England, for a total of 56 million pounds (in return, more than 65 million euros) for a period of time five yearswhich is added to the contract obtained in 2024, consolidating it as one of the main companies in this sector in the country.
The recent awards, which will be launched on October 1, will be meaningful performs approximately 176,000 patient transport services per year between outpatient, renal, high dependency or mental health. With the launch of the awards in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (from July) and Waveney (in October), UK company HTGROUP’s workforce will grow to more than 700 employees nationwidemaking it one of the UK’s largest recruiters in the healthcare transport sector. “We have begun working with management and working groups in Norfolk and Waveney and are confident we can achieve significant improvements for patients and the local health system,” he added.
Mark Burgis, executive director of Patients and Communities at NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB), said: “Scheduled patient transport offers comprehensive support to local residents, especially those who have special needs to get to their hospital appointments. We really are delighted to be working with HTGroup to plan the launch of this service next October. They currently carry out over 45,000 services every month, transporting patients to and from hundreds of treatment centers across the UK including Essex, Dorset, Leicestershire.
