Frank Sinatra played at the most funerals

Frank Sinatra and Ed Sheeran songs are often played at funerals in the UK.

My Way, written by Paul Anka and popularized by Frank Sinatramost often played at funerals. However, the song has been consistently surpassed in recent years by Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life (by Monthly Python). Ed Sheeran comes with Supermarkt Flowers, written from his mother’s perspective, at number 6. Another song that pays tribute is by western life (You raise me up), Led Zeppelin (Stairway to Heaven) and Robbie Williams (Angel).

According to Co-op Funeralcare, which publishes the list, it is the first time there has been no classical or traditional song in the top 10. “More than anything, people want a combination of the familiar and the personal,” one vicar told The Guardian. “The songs that have been the soundtrack to our lives are invaluable when people are remembering or mourning.”

Located in the Netherlands Andrea Bocelli (Time to Say Goodbye), Marco Borsato (There is no such thing as goodbye) and Claudia de Breij (May I Be With You) is often heard at funeral ceremonies.
