Spire Healthcare has been selected by the Falkland Islands Government as the UK’s private provider of arthroplasty, (joint replacement for the knee and hip) services.

Islands Director of Health and Social Services Tom Bale told the Legislative Assembly Medical Services Commission that the Executive Council recently approved a document contracting and financing arthroplasty services for the benefit of those people, chronic patients, with hip and knee joint problems.

Bale added that final legal details were being worked out and polished and it was hoped that those hired by the outsourcing service in the UK (responsible for the entire imaging and X-ray process to ensure safe interventions), would start calling at a later time. in day, running year and so on.
