Erwin van de Looi thinks Dutch Junior will continue: ‘This match gave me great confidence’

The Dutch junior will play the most important match of the U-21 European Championship on Tuesday, then the host nation Georgia will be his opponent. A win is necessary if the Netherlands is to advance to the knockout phase of the tournament. National coach Erwin van de Looi is sure of that.

Van de Looi did not pay attention to criticism after the match against Portugal (1-1). “I don’t follow anything. That’s good, because I don’t get anything out of it. I’m busy here. Today I first watched and analyzed our game and then Georgia’s two games. Then I didn’t feel like doing much else, things -things to follow,’ he said VI.

“I think we played well, but we haven’t linked it to the maximum results we got. The play in the last 25 meters must be better. “It consists of creating and exploiting opportunities,” stressed the coach of the Dutch Junior National Team.

“I certainly have confidence. It won’t be easy. But when I look at how we played the last 2 games… We deserved at least a draw in both games. You hope it will work out at some point, that you can doing something will score more goals. This game gives a lot of confidence. We have to attribute it to more goals. Then we will also be here on Wednesday.”
