Recognised as the UK’s longest-running event dedicated solely to Portugal, the October 2024 edition of ‘Moving to Portugal’ promises to be a momentous occasion, following the recent general elections in both the UK and Portugal.

At the same time, Portugal’s new government has announced plans to reintroduce a flat tax rate of 20% for certain professional positions, with the aim of attracting more expats. The new initiative, called the Talent Attraction Regime (TAR), will have a broader scope than the existing Non-Habitual Resident Tax Regime (NHR). It will target highly qualified professionals, as well as directors of relocating companies and start-ups.
