AMSTELVEEN You can dine and watch special short festival films during the Holland Short Film Festival. The submission date for filmmakers has now closed, the jury is busy determining the good choices.
Selected films will be screened at special film dinners at various restaurants in North Holland. Of course also in Amstelveen. The program includes many comedies and feel-good films, but also beautiful films that you only see at festivals.
The films are two to thirty minutes long and are shown during dinner. Between courses, visitors watch special films from around the world. For the 2024 edition, films from Japan, Iran, Tunisia, France, Italy, Germany, India, Korea, England, America, Canada, Mexico, Brazil are included in the program; in short, films from around 47 different countries and cultures.
In Amstelveen, on January 15, 16, 18 and 21, fans can visit the Colijn restaurant, a contemporary and attractive restaurant located in the center of Noorddammerlaan, with a beautiful view of the Amsterdamse Bos at the back. In addition, films are also screened at ‘de Landing’ in Amstelveen (the former Griffioen theater in Uilenstede).
‘TALK TO YOUR NEIGHBORS’
“Experience shows that this makes for a very enjoyable evening, with the audience eating, watching and talking to each other.” Peter Bosman organized the previous edition in Bergen: ‘Watching a film at dinner creates a special atmosphere, people start talking to each other, it’s a very enjoyable evening, everyone has plenty of food to chat with. The visitors were all very enthusiastic. Because there are so many different short films, there is always something to catch your attention. Plus, you see films you wouldn’t see anywhere else. Very special, highly recommended.”
The film selection is surprising, with at least one winner from last year. “His films are all special.”
Tickets can be booked via www.hollandfilmfestival.nl. The start time is 18.00.
