De Volksbank chooses Ohpen core banking platform for investment services

De Volksbank has migrated its investment accounts to Ohpen’s core banking platform. By choosing Ohpen’s advanced API, de Volksbank has been able to integrate its new ‘Target Investment’ proposition into its own banking environment.

Ohpen is a FinTech founded in 2009a company that has developed a core banking platform for banks, insurers and asset managers. The company has experienced rapid growth, partly facilitated by a €15 million capital injection in mid-2017, and now has more than 130 employees spread across offices in the Netherlands, UK and Spain.

Enhance investment experience

De Volksbank recently decided to invest in improving the experience of customers who invest through one of its four banking brands (ASN BankBLG LiveRegional Bank and SNS). To achieve this, the bank has chosen to migrate its over 122,000 investment accounts to the Ohpen core banking platform. Through The Ohpen API, investment services are now fully integrated into the bank’s four internet banking environments.

From their internet banking environment, customers can manage the entire investment process, from opening and maintaining an investor account to executing orders and managing portfolios. In addition, de Volksbank is introducing a revamped ‘Target Investments’ proposition, facilitated by the migration to the technologically advanced Ohpen API.

“I am proud of the way my colleagues and Ohpen worked at de Volksbank to ensure the migration went smoothly. As a result of the transition to Ohpen, our customers can continue to rely on solid investment administration and their ease of use has increased,” said Alexander Baas, COO of de Volksbank.

Matthijs Aler, CCO Ohpen, added: “We are very proud of our joint achievement: the investment process has been updated, integrated and migrated in a very short time. By outsourcing the entire operational process, de Volksbank can focus on product innovation and optimal customer service. Where the difference can be made.”
