The former RAF Bicester base near Oxfordshire is to be transformed into a real motoring resort called Bicester Motion. Bicester Heritage – the party behind all the plans – has ambitions to deliver Bicester Motion on a large scale. The party is targeting ranking in the top 20 tourist destinations in England.
Future Automotive Speed Technology
Plans have been presented for a so-called Brand Experience Center where driver training could be provided, both on asphalt circuits and on unpaved terrain. A Driver Training Academy, restaurants, cafes and an ‘autonomous vehicle experience area’ are also mentioned in the plans. The so-called Future Automotive Speed Technology (FAST) center should be a center for advanced technologies related to mobility. Furthermore, The Motor Vaults is said to be a private car storage and entertainment space.
Hotel with 344 rooms
An exhibition space called Bicester EXPO and a wellbeing zone called Bicester Reserve are also in the plans. Lastly: the 344-room hotel, also mentioned. “The motoring world is changing and we wanted to create a first-of-its-kind resort that appeals to all ages,” said Dan Geoghegan, Chief Executive of Bicester Motion. We don’t have much more than this information and a few impression photos at this time. Sounds promising.
