President of the Department of Health Policy and Studies at the Medical College, Cristián Rebolledo Díaz, attended a lecture given by Dr Helen Killaspy, chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Rehabilitation Quality Network advisory group. The activity is entitled “Systemic Approach to Mental Health Rehabilitation: Community Work in the Health, Social Services, Private and Voluntary Sectors.”
Dr Helen Killaspy is an Academic at University College London and Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Rehabilitation Quality Network advisory group in the UK. Professor of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and researcher in applied Clinical Epidemiology. The Medical College of Chile played an important role in organizing his visit to the country.
“The Department of Politics and Studies supports Dr. Killaspy to Chile. He is coming to Antofagasta, to the LXXVIII Congress of the SONEPSYN Society of Neurology, Psychiatry and Neurosurgery, and we had the opportunity to invite him to be in Santiago. It is very relevant that the Faculty of Medicine has the opportunity to build, say, through the Department of Politics and Studies, this relationship with the political space where the decision makers are, the people who are influential, not only in the health sector, but also in the health sector. in a more cross-sectoral logic and that talks like this have the possibility to reach a wider audience,” said Dr. Rebolledo.
In addition, he stated that, “it was interesting because we were able to share with doctors on two occasions today. In the morning, as I said, in SEGPRES, and in the afternoon in a more academic room. “I am so happy we are bringing this change to our guest participation.”
Doctor Helen Killaspy was one of the international guests at the LXXVIII Congress of the SONEPSYN Society of Neurology, Psychiatry and Neurosurgery, which took place in Antofagasta from 16 to 18 November.
