British Christian politician reinstated after being suspended for his biblical beliefs on LGBT Pride

A Christian politician in Britain has returned to office after being fired earlier this year for sharing his biblical beliefs about an LGBT pride event on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Raja Lawal, 31, was reappointed as a councillor, or community representative, by the local Conservative Group on Northamptonshire Unitary Council last week.

Lawal had been a council member for two years, but was fired from his position and expelled from several organizations for sharing a message on X in June condemning Pride events.

“When did Pride become something to be celebrated? Because of Pride, Satan fell as an Archangel. Pride is not a virtue, it is a sin. Those who have Pride must Repent of their sins and return to Jesus Christ. He can save you. #PrideMonth# Pride23 #PrideParade,” he said.

The post included an image with a verse from Isaiah 3 verse 9 that says, “Anything that God calls ‘sin’ is not something to be proud of.”

Lawal told CBN News that he felt compelled to post about the Pride event after seeing another post on X praising LGBT events.

Within days of the message, Lawal was ousted by the local Conservative Party on Northamptonshire Unitary Council and removed as chairman of the Health Control Committee and deputy chairman of the Control Management Board and other positions.

He was also threatened with a possible police investigation and received a potentially unlawful ultimatum from local authorities telling him he had to resign from his own company or face the cancellation of major contracts.

“What happened to me was horrific, but I feel encouraged and grateful to the local group who have rehired me. Every Christian, especially those who hold public office, should be concerned about what is happening, as should anyone who cares about freedom of expression. England,” Lawal recently said in a statement.

The treatment I received was truly worrying for a democratic society. You need to sound the alarm because this can now happen to anyone who does not support this extremist LGBT movement. “Most worryingly, things are likely to get worse under a Labor government.”

The Christian Legal Center represents Lawal in his fight to be reinstated to several positions from which he was removed because of the messages.

“This is a step towards justice for Raja Lawal. Fortunately, sanity has prevailed in King’s case. He was an excellent local politician whose motivation was to help and serve others,” said Andrea Williams, executive director of Raja Lawal. Christian Legal Center.

“What happened to King is a clear case of discrimination against the normal expression of Christian belief,” he added. “Where is ‘diversity’, ‘tolerance’ and ‘inclusion’? Instead, we see a monoculture that requires approval, allegiance, and the promotion of LGBT Pride, no matter what.”
