British authorities warned of a “major incident” following the leak of 200 barrels of oil

UK authorities have warned that a “major incident” has been declared after approx 200 barrels of oil will leak into the water in Dorsetin South West England.

The leak, according to port commissioner Poole, occurred this Sunday in a pipeline operated by gas company Perenco, indicating that “under control” situation and that cleanup work is underway, as reported by the BBC.

“It is estimated that around 200 barrels of reservoir fluid have been released into Poole Harbor. Anyone who has had contact with the spill should wash immediately with soap and water. If eyes have been spilled, they should be rinsed with water,” the statement read.

The letter also shows that they have mobilized company specializing in responding to oil spills and that, this Monday morning, there will be an additional evaluation of the cleanup operation.

The UK Health Safety Agency has indicated just that it is forbidden to swim in poole harbourEurope’s largest natural harbour, until further notice.
