He also met with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, whom he thanked for his country’s role in managing aid to Gaza.

The two agreed to “continue to work together to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon,” according to the statement.

Falconer also called on the Egyptian Executive to release Alaa Abdelfatah, a prominent activist with dual citizenship who has been imprisoned almost continuously since Egypt’s president, Abdelfatah al Sisi, came to power in 2014.
