Ascension Day: Top 100 in Omroep Brabant, late artist on Radio 10 and ‘Blijde Klanken Psalmendag’

Adapted programs can be heard on many radio stations today. For example, Omroep Brabant broadcasts the all-day Brabant Top 100 as compiled by listeners. The top 3 are the same as last year. Guus Meeuwis is again number 1 with ‘Brabant’. Second place is Jan Biggel with Ons Moeder Zeej Nog and third place is occupied by Gerard van Maasakkers & Vrienden with Hee Gaode Mee. This is the fourth time the list has been broadcast, until 6 p.m.

‘Stars in Heaven Top 110’ can be heard on Radio 10 until 7pm. This list consists of music by deceased artists. George Michael is number 1 with ‘Careless Whisper’. Artists such as Michael Jackson, Queen and Whitney Houston are also on the list. Each artist appears only once.

KINK spent all day thinking about the late Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog singer; Chris Cornell. He passed away on May 18, 2017. KINK played a song from one of Cornell’s bands or solo works every hour. Additionally, the Op het Broek Team dedicates a special broadcast honoring Chris Cornell between 6 and 7 p.m. This broadcast contains an hour of interviews, anecdotes, and Chris Cornell’s top 3, voted on by listeners.

Psalm Day

On Groot Nieuws Radio it is ‘Blijde Klanken Psalmendag’. All 150 psalms will be heard in a twelve hour broadcast. The presentation was in the hands of Tim Hendriks and Hans van Vuuren. Dozens of different choirs and soloists will be heard. A number of choirs from the UK will also be heard throughout the day.

“The Psalms provide words for every life situation and every emotion. This can increase excitement, but also provide comfort or provide space for questions and doubts to be expressed. And in all of this, the greatness of God and his relationship to man is sung over and over again. I’m glad we can also look at this in this way!”, said Hans van Vuuren.
