Apple may acquire Peloton

New rumors have emerged that predict Apple will acquire another company this year. According to Deepwater Asset Management, an American investment company, Apple plans to acquire Peloton in 2024. Peloton is a company that makes fitness equipment for your home, has a training app and allows you to subscribe. It brings the gym to your home.

Peloton is currently active in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Germany. The latter is particularly interesting, as Peloton already offers active fitness subscriptions in Europe. That’s why Peloton, in addition to all its knowledge in the fitness field, is so attractive to Apple. Acquiring the company means Apple Fitness Plus can finally expand in Europe.

When will Apple Fitness Plus arrive?

Several years ago, Apple released its own fitness app. With Apple Fitness Plus, you can follow workouts, which you can then watch on your Apple Watch, iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV. Unfortunately Apple Fitness Plus was never officially released in the Netherlands or Belgium. This may change with the Peloton acquisition as Apple will have more content to offer.

Peloton already has a wealth of classes and training, which could be combined with Apple Fitness Plus if an acquisition becomes a possibility. Apple of course already has an Apple Watch and an Apple Fitness Plus subscription that can be supplemented with Peloton classes. If Apple does decide to take over the company, Apple Fitness Plus could expand even further.

More health features for Apple

Good news if you’re still waiting for Apple Fitness Plus, as it appears Apple is working behind the scenes to expand its workout services. In 2021, Apple has expanded fitness services to fifteen new countries. This list of fifteen countries includes several European countries, such as Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Portugal, and Spain.

The Netherlands is gone again, so we still can’t use fitness services. Now that rumors suggest Peloton will be taken over, it seems like there’s a good chance Apple Fitness Plus will also come to the Netherlands. You no longer have to go to the gym, but can take courses from home with your Apple Watch or iPhone. So just be patient, because Apple Fitness Plus will probably be available this year.
