Adele made her debut on Dutch TV with Chasing Pavements

Adele released her second single Chasing Pavements on January 11, 2008, from her debut album. 19. Although the album is not full of hits like Successor 21It’s clear that Adele has a lot of talent. The song was well received in the United Kingdom and charted at number two there.

In the Netherlands, the song peaked at number nine in the Top 40 and has since made the NPO Radio 2 Top 2000 every year. In the 2022 list, the song is in 1113th place. The title of Chasing Pavements is an English idiom, which literally means ‘to follow the beaten path’. The song is about an argument between Adele and her boyfriend at the time, during which she wonders if she should choose him or go her own way.

In support of her debut album, the singer went on a 2008 tour of Europe and North America. On February 17, 2008, the barely known Adele was first seen on Dutch television. There he guested with Paul de Leeuw on his program Beautiful! Lion againwhere he sang Chasing Pavements live.
