The United Arab Emirates (UAE), known as one of the richest countries in the world, recently decided to use Cardano as an important tool to secure its criminal investigations. During the World Police Summit in Dubai, Dubai Police presented a pilot project based on Cardano, with advanced data management capabilities. The project focuses on securely sharing sensitive data related to criminal investigations with agencies such as Interpol.
High level security for sensitive data
The pilot project, developed based on the Cardano blockchain, emphasizes a high level of security when sharing sensitive information, such as bullet scans in concrete, obtained through advanced scanners. Using blockchain technology, key forensic information is securely distributed to international stakeholders around the world. Chris O, founder of Cardano GhostFund DAO, sees the adoption of Cardano in the UAE as a sign of “massive real-world adoption” of the blockchain.
Blockchain for investigating criminal activity
Omar Shands, President of Skypath Security, shares his insights on Dubai Police’s acceptance of the Cardano blockchain in a recent post on X. The choice of Cardano in the UAE illustrates the advanced application of blockchain technology, ensuring transparent data management in a decentralized network. This development follows previous moves such as the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) announcing to employ blockchain researchers to tackle crime.
