Ecoculture Biosciences continues to innovate and develop new tools to help farmers around the world improve the health of their plants and crops obtain greater benefits in the future. In this case, over the last year three new technologies have been presented that improve the performance, quality or natural defenses of plants.
One of these new solutions is a micronized leonardite suspension that improves performance, quality, resistance to drought and soil restoration, and is certified for organic production.
This new technology, Leodite, is made with 100% leonardite in its natural form, mined in America, classified and refined. without carrying out chemical processes. It is suitable for foliar application or through fertilization and thanks to an acidic pH between 4 and 5, it improves the absorption of minerals and nutrients, including iron and phosphate, which are not available in the soil.
Ecoculture’s Leodita promotes the absorption and transport of nutrients, particularly essential minerals and trace elements, resulting in better health and resilience in plants experiencing stressful conditions. One of its most important benefits is its acidic pH, which when applied to the leaves helps the plant absorbs many micronutrients important in an easier and faster way, by converting nutrients into more soluble salts.
This highly effective micronized leonardite suspension improves plant growth and quality, plant resistance to stress, root growth, fertilizer effectiveness and stimulates photosynthesis, respiration and protein synthesis. Besides that, improve soil structure and release nutrients, allows greater moisture retention and has a high capacity to ionize metals, making them available to plants. At the microbiotic level, it improves soil health, activates the rhizosphere and increases biological activity in the soil.
Another novelty is Soptech, a mixture of long-chain fatty alcohols in the form of an oily emulsion, with good cleaning and degreasing action. This new technology cleans all types of residue on the applied surface, with a great mechanical effect surprise at any organic elements. Because of this shock cleaning effect, mixing it with other products with Soptech will make it even more effective.
Its cleaning action is capable of breaking down and removing molasses and black coloring that stain vegetation, thus proving useful in indirect control strategies for several diseases. soft-bodied dangerous insects, removes parasites and performs a dehydration action capable of dissolving and destroying the insect’s protective coating. The combination of Soptech with insecticide has been proven, in tests carried out by Ecoculture against whiteflies and aphids, to be the best theses, with an effectiveness of 85%.
The third novelty is Dentamet, a special liquid formulation based on copper and zinc that allows the rapid and effective absorption of these two microelements, essential to ensure optimal functioning of enzymatic processes. This allows upgrades physiological state of the plant and indirectly increases plants’ natural defenses against diseases caused by bacteria and fungi.
In addition, it stimulates the formation of natural defense substances by inducing biological protective actions against abiotic agents, preventing the emergence of resistance phenomena. Recommended for crops with integrated and/or organic production, and is also a biodegradable product, non-hazardous, without waste andenvironmentally friendly. Its effectiveness against the fungus has been measured in trials of greenhouse tomatoes of the Sagea variety, and against fire blight on Red Chief apples, both in Italy, with an effectiveness rate of over 85%.
Establishment, records and environment
The company run by Ángel Ruiz Serna and Martyn Pierce continues to grow, and in this case has included a new commercial representative who will be responsible for the Extremadura and Castilla-La Mancha regions, Juan Pozo. This growth also led to the creation of a new position of Country Manager, which since this year has been held by Néstor Coltell.
On the other hand, Ecoculture has been announced in 2023 two world records and one Guinness record in cereal cultivation using his technology on plants in England. British producer Tim Lamyman achieved this in winter wheat, with a yield of almost 18 tonnes per hectare, and in winter barley, with a yield of 16.21 tonnes per hectare.
Additionally, over the past year, Ecoculture has embraced these principles Expanded Producer Responsibility System for agricultural packaging waste from the Spanish Association for Packaging Assessment (AEVAE), with the aim of providing correct environmental treatment and facilitating the collection of marketed packaging and complying with applicable national regulations.
