For the 31st edition of the Holland Holstein sHow on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 November in Leeuwarden, 218 black and white cows and 94 red and white cows were registered for Saturday. 140 Young Farmers were registered as of Friday. According to the organization, this is a large number.
Participants in Young Farmers’ Day must get up early. The shearing competition begins at 07.45, followed by a showmanship competition and heifer conformation checks. The 140 Young Breeders are divided into 85 seniors, over 18 years old, and 55 juniors. The Young Breeders can be followed from the stands from 11.00 to mid-afternoon.
Quim Serrabassa of Spain and Michael Halliwell of England judged the Young Breeders based on their performances. At the end, the champions will be rewarded. Followed by the Young Breeders Sale.
Respect older women
Luc Sassel of France will judge the Holsteins on Saturday and Markus Mock of Germany will judge the Red Holsteins. There is a special section highlighting cows that have produced more than 75,000 kilograms of milk.
The day ended with a grand parade, where all the champions from both Friday and Saturday were again in the spotlight. The overall Holstein and Red Holstein champion will also be announced here.
The women’s group also entered the ring today. The first names of Woody and Jacuzzi from CRV are already known.
