LaLiga is the sponsor of the club which is claimed to be the longest name in the world. The uniform of Clwb Pêl Droed Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch Football Club from Wales will now be decorated with the LaLiga logo with the motto: two of the biggest names in world football join forces.
On Saturday the club, abbreviated to CPD Llanfairpwll FC, will be in action for the first time in the new kit when they take on Holyhead Town FC in North Wales West Coast Division One. The club’s sponsorship of the record name stems in part from the fact that CPD Llanfairpwll FC will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2024.
Marketing language for brilliant sponsorship campaigns
For LaLiga, this is a fun way to further promote its brand. “In our new brand positioning, this partnership is a great way to creatively bring to life our new ‘LL’ visual identity,” said Keegan Pierce, who represents the interests of the Spanish League in the UK and Ireland.
Bassie & Adrian
Bassie & Adriaan viewers may already recognize that particular name. In one of the episodes of the series about the famous acrobat and his clown friend, they were in Wales and Bassie had no difficulty with the pronunciation of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
