Hyzon Motors Inc. announced that the Board of Directors has elected Erik Anderson as Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective August 24, 2023. Anderson replaces George Gu who is stepping down from his post. The board also elected Andrea Farace as Deputy Chair of Hyzon’s Board of Directors.
Anderson, who has been a member of Hyzon’s Board of Directors since 2021, is known as a global innovation leader and investor, holding leadership positions across a variety of industries.
As founder and CEO of the WestRiver Group, Anderson has extensive experience driving business growth, expanding organizational reach, and raising capital for growing companies. He leads four Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) in decarbonization, seeking impact companies with scalable solutions to decarbonize the global economy. He is also Vice President of Topgolf Callaway Brands and previously served as Executive Chairman of Topgolf Entertainment Group.
Anderson also serves as Executive Chairman of the Singularity Group, a global community that uses exponential technology to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. Among other things, he received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award, was named one of the 100 Most Attractive Entrepreneurs by Goldman Sachs and received the Transformative CEO Award from The CEO Forum Group. Andrea Farace, incoming Deputy Chair of the Board, is an accomplished director and leader with a long global career spanning over 40 years in finance and general corporate management, including 20 years with Citigroup as Chief Executive Officer or Chief Operating Officer of a number of companies institutional.
He has a significant background in corporate governance and has chaired or served on several public and private boards of directors, including regulated companies. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of HBL Bank UK, a regulated full-service bank in the UK, and a member of the Boards of two fintech companies in the UK, Germany and Italy. He also brings a unique global perspective to Hyzon, having led financial and industrial companies in the US, UK, Middle East Europe, Middle East, Africa, Italy, Japan and Asia during his career.
