British Supersport driver Damon Rees passed away on Friday morning, June 30. The New Zealander was hospitalized two days ago with acute intestinal problems, and he died early Friday.
Sad news from the British Superbike Championship on the morning of Friday 30th June. 28 year old Damon Rees has died after a brief and intense illness.
On his wife Talia’s Instagram page, you can read that Rees was hospitalized two days ago and needed emergency surgery on his intestines. His colon was removed and the New Zealander was then kept in a coma.
Talia Rees said the situation was very serious, but unfortunately the bad news was announced Friday morning that her beloved husband and driver had passed away.
Rees came to England from New Zealand in 2020 to race in the British Superbike Championship. He started in the National Superstock 1000 class and then raced in the British Supersport class.
