It Goes Like Nanana by Peggy Gou is the new number 1 player on Worldwide Club 20.

Last week we got a new number 1 on the Worldwide Club 20 through Eat Your Man. However, Dom Dolla and Nelly Furtado’s success turned out to be short-lived as this week the duo was ousted by Peggy Gou. This South Korean DJ and producer won 5th place with I Go last August. He has now gone far beyond that with a song you now hear from speakers at almost every festival and party: It Goes Like Nanana.

It’s been more than two years since a single woman led the Worldwide Club 20. Sian Evans, the Kosheen singer, did it with Hide U. Tinlicker’s remix managed to lead the Worldwide Club 20 for one week. It Goes Like Nanana is the fastest climber on the list. The song topped the list with 14 spots. The previous hit that rose to number 1 more convincingly was Don’t Forget My Love by Diplo and Miguel. In March 2022, the song ranked 1st with 17 spots.

Lose Control appears to be in its final week on the Worldwide Club 20. James Hype’s hit hit its all-time high two weeks ago, at number 4. Last week, two spots already exploded; this week another 13 positions were minus, which also makes him the fastest ballast on the list.

At Worldwide Club 20 we welcome four newcomers. Kylie Minogue takes the new high at number 14 with Padam Padam. The song has been the ‘talk of the town’ for some time. Have you previously expressed your enthusiasm by ‘killing’; while ‘blackout’ is on the rise. Padam Padam has now also achieved ‘queer anthem’ status and can all be traced back to 1951, when Edith Piaff sang about lost love and loneliness in the song of the same name. In countries such as Ireland and the United Kingdom, Kylie Minogue has now racked up top 10 hits in five decades. Things haven’t been going that fast here. Now, however, the 55-year-old could add another club streak this week, as Padam Padam is the highest-ranking new player on the Worldwide Club 20.

Notably absent from the Worldwide Club 20 this year and last year was Ferreck Dawn. Two years ago he made the song Kush with Guz and it remains his biggest success on the list. Freek Coppens, DJ and producer from Veldhoven, certainly isn’t standing still for a while, but his list remains well beyond his reach. For her newest song, Better, she’s teamed up with Jena. Born in the suburbs of Detroit, the American started writing songs at a young age. With Better, Jena Asciutto now also has her first success as an entry at number 16.

There was never much success for Holley Lapsley Fletcher, but in Great Britain he always managed to make a lasting impression. Låpsley made it to the top 10 of the Ultratop 50 with Hurt Me in 2015. Now we hear the British singer is back in collaboration with KC Lights. Better Times was born on the train when Kerr Slaven, as the Scot is called, was going to London. Between the rails he produces a warm, familiar sound that should feel fun and new again. It wasn’t long before the track was there. “Better Times is about letting go of everything you carry as weight in your life to look forward optimistically,” he said.
