The new model’s extra length is distributed optically via wider sliding doors (+19.2 cm) and 5.8 centimeters of extra space between the C-pillar and the rear wheel. This makes the design harmonious and easily recognizable. The V-shape at the front and the signature LED headlights and taillights also contribute to this. Drag coefficient of 0.29 is very low.
The eye-catchers in the interior are the digital dashboard (13.5 cm) – a customizable display – and the large (32.8 cm) touch screen for the infotainment system. It is now much easier to operate thanks to the 5.0 software, new interface and modified menu structure. Many functions are immediately accessible via two permanently visible bars and the new Car Control Center button. Many of them can also be controlled by voice control. Various touch sliders now light up for extra ease of use. Interactive ID light strip. The light supports the driver in navigation, for example, and warns of any danger. Inside the ID. The long wheelbase has the added advantage of having room for a larger battery pack with a capacity of 86 kWh. Just like the standard battery pack (77 kWh), the new version can be quickly charged with 170 kW direct current. Identity. The long-wheelbase Buzz is also available with a new 210 kW/286 hp electric motor driving the rear wheels. The maximum torque is 550 Nm. With the new electric motor, the electronically limited top speed is 160 km/h (regular ID top speed Buzz: 145 km/h).
Basically, long ID. Buzz has a lot to offer, but corporate car owners are missing the net. Identity. Buzz LWB will not be available as Cargo. Volkswagen aims to cater to SMEs that need more payload and payload volume with the successor to the Transporter T6.1, Volkswagen’s partner of the new Ford (E-)Transit Custom.
