The idea of the four-day work week is that employees can reduce their hours, but receive the same pay and benefits while maintaining the same workload.
The pandemic has shifted the workforce paradigm and addressed the number of workdays as workers have begun to reconsider the importance of flexibility and benefits.
The test design, the report said, involved two months of preparation for participants, with workshops, training, tutoring and peer support, utilizing business experience that they’ve moved to a shorter work week.
The results show that of the 61 participating companies, 56 continued with a four-day week (92%) and 18 of them confirmed that the policy was a permanent change.
