Republican presidential candidate representing the National Association of Republicans (ANR) for List 1, Santiago Peña, talks with journalists from La Nación from Argentina, Eduardo Feinmann and Jonatan Viale, during the LN+ program, about the misrepresentation given to some of their expressions of subsidized jobs in Argentina.

The presidential candidate highlights the great ties that unite him personally to neighboring countries, given his father immigrated to Argentina at a young age and he worked for many years, like his mother, protected by the Argentinian people, besides that. has family ties from a neighboring country and that he would never intend to offend the city he also feels like a son to for all that matters in his family legacy.

“In a forum on the theme of work and entrepreneurship, I spoke about subsidies and the care to be taken with them, because even though many times it is very important and as happened in Argentina and it is common knowledge , it promotes not wanting to work, and I am against policies which impede work”, explained the presidential candidate.

“I would like to have a level of development in the plan like you, here in Paraguay,” Santiago Peña highlighted at another point in the interview, while commenting that in our country there are also support plans for very poor families. , but they are temporary, therefore the goal of indulgence is for society to progress economically.

Santiago Peña was consulted about inflation being managed in our country and about the situation of Paraguay’s currency compared to that of Argentina, which he pointed out: “To illustrate, Paraguay has spent 80 years with the same currency and annual inflation currently remains at 9% and monthly at 1%”, Peña also assured that although the pandemic affected Paraguay a lot, it is the country with the least economic consequences among all Latin American countries.

The other side discussed by journalists and Peña consulted is a phenomenon that is currently seen in Argentina, namely the fact that people who previously migrated to neighboring countries to earn better incomes, now they return to their countries because now they can earn more. . in their home country, a phenomenon that Peña dismissed that I know of among Paraguayans living in Argentina.

The Republican presidential candidate also recalled visiting his compatriots living in Argentina several times, in different parts of the capital, who mentioned the benefits in terms of education, health and jobs that they had and these were the main ones. the reason why they decided to stay in the countryside and not return to Paraguay, is because if a job is terminated, they will immediately find another position in good conditions.

Likewise, during a conversation with LN+ Peña, he acknowledged that Paraguay is going through an employment pandemic and this is his biggest challenge and the main axis of his government’s proposal, to achieve half a million jobs during his term in office to get the economy off Paraguay needs.
