Queen Elizabeth to her final resting place: this is what that day was like

The Queen’s body has been laid to rest in Westminster Hall, a historic room in London’s Parliament House, since Wednesday. Since then, interested persons have been able to walk past the coffin day and night to pay their last respects. It’s still possible until 06:30 today.

The line closed just after 11.30pm yesterday. The UK government reported on Twitter that there was no longer capacity and therefore lines were closed for new arrivals. To 11:44 the box containing the royal pennant, crown, orb and scepter was carried from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey. Behind the casket, which sits on the cannon base, are King Charles and other members of the royal family.
