London, Jan 31 (EFE) of the United Nations on biodiversity (COP15).
The program includes the creation or renewal of 25 national nature reserves, as well as 19 other restoration projects, the Ministry of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs detailed in a statement.
The executive has also pledged to guarantee access for all British residents to any green space or water within a 15-minute walk of their home.
“Protecting our natural environment is vital to the health, economy and prosperity of our country,” said British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
“This plan is a roadmap for how we will fulfill our commitment to leave the environment better than we found it, while ensuring that we drive progress with new ambitions and achieve our goals by not just stopping, but by reversing natural decline,” he added.
The program will “boost green growth”, create jobs and “support the 70,000 people already working in conservation and the environment” in the UK, the Government details.
During the five years covered by the project, measures will also be promoted aimed at “transforming the management of 70% of rural land”, encouraging farmers to “adopt nature-friendly practices”. EFE
