World Cup Draw: The Orange Lionesses meet the United States in the group stage

The Orange Lionesses have attracted the United States for the Women’s Soccer World Cup in 2023. During the World Cup which will be held in Australia and New Zealand, the Netherlands will seek revenge for their 2019 World Cup final defeat.

The Netherlands were in pot 2 before Saturday morning’s draw, so there is a very good chance of drawing the top nation. Coach Andries Jonker’s team dropped to 8th in the world ranking.

USA, Vietnam and the winner of the playoffs
Apart from the United States too Vietnamese part of group E. Vietnam (world ranked 34th) made their debut at the Women’s World Cup. Group A play-off winner, Cameroon, Thailand or Portugal, will be the 3rd opponent. These 3 countries will fight over 1 ticket in February.

The Netherlands will all play their group games at the World Cup which will be held from July 20 to August 20 in New Zealand. After a successful edition in France, FIFA decided to expand the Women’s World Cup from 24 to 32 participants.
