Investing.com – UK stocks were higher at the close on Friday; gains from , , and sectors leading the index higher.
At the close in London, it was up 0.31%, hitting a new high in 3 months.
The best score of the session was EasyJet PLC (LON:), with an increase of 2.74%, or 10.80 points, to 404.90 at the close. Followed by Smith & Nephew PLC (LON:), which was up 1.33%, 14.50 points, to close at 1.00, and Imperial Brands PLC (LON:), which was up 1.24%, 26.00 points, until the close of the session at 2.00.
To the index tail is complete johnson matthey PLC (LON:), which was down 2.38% or 51.00 points, closed at 2.00. Ocado Group PLC (LON:), fell 2.05%, or 13.60 points, to close at 649.80, while Unified Utilities Group PLC (LON:) lost 1.98% or 21.50 points to end at 1.00.
The green figure beat the red one on the London Stock Exchange by a margin of 908 to 844, with 504 closing flat.
Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.48%, or 8.35, to $1.00 per troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities, Crude Oil for January delivery fell 1.60%, or 1.25, to settle at $76.69 a barrel, while Brent Oil for January delivery fell 1.54%, or 1.31, to $84.03 a barrel.
GBP/USD was flat 0.17% to 1.21 while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.14% to 0.86.
The dollar index was down 0.02% to 105.95.
