A British fisherman is one step away from setting a historic record around the world after will catch impressive gold fish which can be considered as the largest in the world, since this one weighs about 70 pounds.
As reported by the Daily Mail, andy hackett 42 years, pI’m in charge of fishing for this specimen called The Carrot, when he fishes in Bluewater Lakes, in Champagne, France.
“I always knew The Carrot was in there, but I never expected to get one,” said Hackett.
In addition, it is known that this fish is not the real dorado it will be a gold hybrid with koi, which generally live in ponds. Presumably also the specimen he will be about 20 years old and he was taken to the lake 15 years ago.
On several previous trips, Hackett had seen the fish; however, it was impossible for him to catch it because it was too slippery. But finally, he was able to do so in early November, shocking all the experts in the field.
“I knew it was a big fish when I took my bait and went sideways and up and down with it. Then it came out at 30 or 40 meters and I saw it was orange… It was brilliant to catch it but it was also pure luck,” the fisherman added.
The koi goldfish weighs 67.4 pounds, 30 pounds heavier than previously thought to be the world’s largest goldfish. and that he was fired at Minnesota by Jason Fugate in 2019.
The fish were released after being weighed and reported to be in perfect health.
