  • US is losing weight but its center is still among the best in the world

The US has nine fewer universities among the top 300 (from 85 to 76). Likewise with universities that lost in the ‘top 10’, including in the fields of Economics and Health. The two fields where they are not number 1 are Computer Science (MIT is second only to Oxford) and Medicine and Health, where Harvard is third after Oxford and Cambridge. And UK universities have increased their presence in the ‘top 10’ across a wide range of subjects. Arts and Humanities: Stanford, MIT, Cambridge

In this area, the US and UK dominate the ‘top 10’. As news, Hong Kong Polytechnic is in the ‘top 100’ and is ranked 73rd.

Economics and business: MIT, Stanford, Oxford

Here, China entered the ‘top 10’ for the first time with Tsinghua University, which jumped from 11th to 8th. The Asian nation ranks third in the world with the most attendance of the ‘top 300’ economic studies. Saudi King Abdulaziz University enters the ‘top 100’ in 63rd place.

Medicine and health: Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard
