In the 80s there was a very shocking statistic, which stated that more than 1,500 children per day were exposed to polio with significant neurological sequelae, that this number was decreasing radically thanks to vaccination campaigns implemented globally.

Polio has been eradicated in Mexico for 30 years. Worldwide, according to data from the World Health Organization, cases have decreased by 99%.

However, in recent months, polio bacteria have been detected in the wastewater of New York and England, which has several areas of alert.

Children under the age of 5 are the most likely to catch this virus and unfortunately there is no cure for this disease, the only thing that has prevented its spread for many years is a vaccine.

Vaccination is absolutely free and is applied to babies in their first months of life, so far there are no cases in Mexico, but the risk is there.
