VEENENDAAL Thirty Dutch Team Domino builders have settled on Sporthal de Vallei for a special record attempt. Next Friday, the 700,000 dominoes currently being dropped should fall.

The team started building the project last weekend. Various attractions are depicted in their own amusement park ‘Domino Valley’. The goal is to become the largest domino project in the world. Over 596,229 bricks must fall to do this. The current record is held by the German team and dates back to 2018. Last year Dutch Dominoes Team attempted to break this record, but then ‘only’ 573,004 stones fell.

INTERNATIONAL Builders want to go beyond that this year at Veenendaal. Over 700,000 dominoes were dropped. “If more than 596,229 bricks do fall, this will be the largest project in the last 13 years,” the team said.

Most of the builders in the team came from the Netherlands, but there were also participants from Belgium, Germany, France, England, and even builders from the US. All with the same hobby: placing lots of dominoes. For two weeks of construction, Sporthal de Vallei in Veenendaal will be their home.
