On September 24, Vanillaware shared that Unicorn Overlord had sold over one million units. This is even celebrated with special artwork for the occasion. Apart from the artwork, a special program was also held which, among other things, featured the 10 most popular characters.
The list of the 10 most popular characters is based on player votes. It looks at character design, personality, and how useful the character is in combat.
The top 10 are as follows (via Siliconera):

- Melisandre
- Berengaria
- Virginia
- Alain
- Eltolinde
- Yunifi
- Scarlett
- Chloe
- Travis
Nigel also entered the top 10. Nigel would officially rank 4th, below Berengaria and above Virginia. Later removed as technically not part of this ranking.
Our Karina reviewed the title at the time and even called it “a masterpiece from Vanillaware.” He also mentioned that this game deserves a place in every strategic RPG fan’s collection. The game was also successful in the UK and quickly entered the top ten best-selling games there.
Unicorn Overlord can be played on Nintendo Switch from March 8, 2024.
