Switzerland became the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Singer Nemo won with his song Code. The Netherlands were disqualified hours before the final and Joost Klein was missing from the podium in Malmö on Saturday evening.
Nemo wins jury points convincingly: a total of 21 countries indicated ‘douze points’ Code. The Netherlands also awarded the most jury points to the Swiss song.
Croatia received by far the most points from domestic viewers, after which Israel received the most points via televoting. Spectators in the Netherlands gave Israel the most points.
Switzerland’s victory was not very convincing: 2nd place Croatia was only 44 points behind.
Norway is last, Joost Klein is missing
Nemo is the first non-binary person to win the Eurovision Song Contest. “I hope the games continue to live up to their promise and represent peace and dignity for all people,” they said after the win.
“I cracked the code, now I cracked the cup. “Hopefully I can fix it and maybe Eurovision can also be fixed,” continued Nemo.
Norway finished last in the final, but England were the only ones to receive zero points from the home crowd.
Joost Klein might be Europapa did not perform at the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. He was informed earlier on Saturday that he was removed from the match because he was involved in an incident. Klein allegedly made threatening gestures toward a female cameraman.
