The Battle of Zuiderzee will be commemorated and celebrated from July 6 to October 8 with various activities in Monnickendam which is grandly decorated with a recreated city gate.
4000 Playmobil dolls
With over 4000 Playmobil dolls, horses, boats and castles, Dutch history comes to life in Grote Kerk. In a trip back in time we look at the development of the Netherlands: From the emergence of the Roman-German Empire, to the Counties of the Netherlands, to the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands, to the United Kingdom of the Netherlands (Belgium-Dutch), to the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Netherlands and the (island) states of Aruba, Curaçao , Saint Maarten).
About the exhibition
The exhibition was developed by HISTORY-KS, Rob Kortekaas and Angelique Schipper. On Tuesday night, July 11, they will be telling all about the history exhibit as a historic couple.
The exhibition can be seen from Friday 7 July to Sunday 8 October 2023 at the Grote Kerk, admission is free.
The official opening will be held on Saturday 8 July at 10.30 by Mayor Anak Bo Weeting and Mayor Marian van der Weele.
