Bushmills Irish Whiskey Collaborates With Local Artists To Provide New Platforms For Creative Art Expressions

#ANSWERTHECALL Series Continues To Inspire Local Talent

Bushmills Irish Whiskey has collaborated with two local artists as the #AnswerTheCall series continues to celebrate and inspire talented individuals across the country. Urban street artist, Visual Waste, and tattoo artist, Connor Curran, will showcase their creative skills in brand new ways this month with whiskey and art enthusiasts having the opportunity to share in the projects.

Dean Kane (aka Visual Waste) is one of Belfast’s most successful street artists. Oozing with the passion and rawness of their creator, Dean’s striking murals have commanded attention from locals, tourists, art critics, media and celebrities around the world.

As part of the #AnswerTheCall series, Dean will make the bold move from urban murals to fine art this month in an exhibit that mirrors the confident and defiant spirit of the Bushmills brand blended with the elegance and smoothness of the whiskey.‘Whiskey and Muses’ is a Bushmills and Visual Waste collaboration whereby Dean has created an urban interpretation of legendary artists who have inspired his career, as well as Northern Ireland legends who have answered the call in what will be the artist’s very first exhibition. All about firsts, Bushmills will host the exhibit at The Gallery, Belfast, 24 – 31 August. Whiskey enthusiasts can register for the opportunity to attend the launch event on 24 August where Visual Waste will create a live paint demonstration and unveil the exhibition to friends, media and competition winners, with specially curated Black Bush Whiskey cocktails on offer. In a second collaboration in keeping with the series’ creative arts theme for August, Bushmills has partnered with tattoo artist, Connor Curran, from Crooked Mile Tattoo.

As one of the country’s brightest and most dynamic talents in the tattoo world, Connor’s unique illustrative style and incomparable techniques have left an impressive mark on the industry. Inspired by tattoos of the 40s, 50s and 60s, Connor employs his own modern slant bringing this style into the 21st century. Connor has collaborated with Bushmills to create a limited edition ‘Bushmills X Crooked Mile Tattoo’ t-shirt for bar staff across the country. Conceptualised by Connor, the t-shirt design represents the bold and defiant spirit synonymous with Bushmills whilst celebrating the innovative and creative design talent that exists in Northern Ireland.
