Oh Yeah Summer Camps

Oh Yeah Summer Camps

The Oh Yeah Centre are delighted to announce the return of their famous summer camps this coming August. The Mid Summer Music camp is aimed at anyone who is interested in any aspect of music performance or learning about the industry. The summer zine camp will give participants the opportunity to learn all about what it’s really like working in journalism and photography.

Both camps encourage young people from all backgrounds and abilities to take part, learn new skills, make new friends and most importantly have fun.

Mid Summer Music Camp •  07 – 11 August 2017

10am – 3pm daily

Are you into music and thinking about taking up an instrument? Had some thoughts about working in the industry one day, or simply curious about music and performance in general? Maybe you’ve just picked up a guitar for the first time, or you’re considering drum lessons. Interested in song writing or singing?

Mid Summer Music Camp is designed for the curious and the beginner. The week is split into various activities from instrument tasters and jam sessions to an introduction to song writing. It’s an open opportunity to give everything a go, under guidance from a team of experienced musicians.

Participants will spend the week learning, writing and jamming together. Oh Yeah will give you a guided tour of the facilities, the music exhibition and all its stories. The camp will also provide you with information on various pathways into the industry, from performance to sound, stage and events management. There’s a chance to stage manage and work off the sound desk, and by the end of the week you will get the chance to showcase what you have learned on the Oh Yeah stage.
