Chekhov’s Shorts | Verbal Arts
Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast • Thursday 30 and Friday 31 March 2017
European Arts Company presents a hugely entertaining collection of classic one-act short, comic plays by Anton Chekhov.
Including ‘The Evils of Tobacco’, ‘The Dimwit’, ‘The Bear’, Swan Song’ and ‘The Proposal’, this is Chekhov at his comic best, before Uncle Vanya started shooting, The Seagull got stuffed, The Cherry Orchard was ‘car-parked’ and The Three Sisters started moaning.
“Chekhov wasn’t all doom and gloom… European Arts Company’s production of Chekhov Shorts is fast-paced, witty and engaging” – The Stage
“The cast have almost as much fun as the audience… European Arts Company provides sheer entertainment but also an excellent opportunity for seeing high quality live theatre” – International Herald Tribune
This production has toured to over 100 venues in England, Wales, Scotland and even Greece!
It’s been called “the perfect introduction to the wonderful world of Chekhov” and delighted audiences everywhere.
Why spend an evening going to see one great play when you can see 5 in under 2 hours for the price of one!
